Since its inception in the early 70's MCL's primary area of specialization has been waste management. Initially a waste hauling company, MCL rapidly expanded its capabilities into landfill operations and development, recycling programs and remediation.
By 1989 MCL's municipal landfill operations evolved into the company's core business. Through long term performance based agreements, MCL currently manages and operates major regional landfill and waste management systems in Central Alberta, participating in all facets of site operations.
Participation includes design, engineering, financial accounting, joint venture funding, and the supply of equipment and trained personnel.
For over 20 years MCL has also participated in the development and delivery of industry training programs focusing on landfill operations and management, waste facilities, waste transfer, recycling and compost operations.
ENVIRONMENTAL
MCL Environmental provides a wide range of services that assist both public and private sector clients to identify and manage their environmental concerns. These services are incorporated through traditional consulting arrangements, outsourcing, management agreements, service agreements as well as full client service packages.
Through waste acceptance programs MCL specializes in the sourcing out, profiling, pricing, placement and processing of industrial wastes and soils.
Employing the philosophy of Predictable Performance, combined with experience and sound project management principles, MCL guides clients in establishing cost management, resource allocation and due diligence protocols.
RECYCLING
A major component of the key services offered by MCL includes material recovery programs that are innovative and progressive. In addition to landfill operations MCL has undertaken the design, construction and demolition diversion. Initiatives developed by MCL range from composting, operating fully integrated recycling depots, development and delivery of residential curbside and rural blue bag programs.
MCL operates throughout Central Alberta, rural and urban facilities including public drop off and recycling depots. The comprehensive service package includes turnkey transfer stations, recycling depots and private sector container services.
MCL also operates a number of strategic material recovery facilities in the Alberta Region. The scope of these operations support total program management and all aspects of running the program. These include provisions of equipment and labour, selection of processors, shipping and tracking, administration and reporting as well as program enhancement and public education.
WASTE TRANSFER
MCL operates a fleet of roll-off trucks throughout Central Alberta that service regional rural and urban transfer stations, Industrial Commercial Institutional clientele and services the construction and demolition sector. MCL offers a full complement of containers from 12 to 40 cubic yards.
Complimenting the capabilities afforded by its Roll Off fleet, MCL also provides waste transfer services utilizing walking floor trailers capable of hauling waste and recyclable materials to landfills and processing facilities.
Deploying a strategy to minimize greenhouse gases MCL also develops and participates in programs that transfer processed materials such as wood fibre and tire shred to primary and secondary markets.
MCL's vertical integration philosophy extends to include equipment mobilization and demobilization employing in-house forces.
